Seventy three released cultivars of different zones of mungbean were evaluated for genetic variability. Principal component and non-hierarchical Euclidean cluster analysis were used to compare the genotypes. Wide diversity was observed among the cultivars of different attributes. Released cultivars were grouped into 6 clusters. The hybridization programme based on such analysis has been suggested which is likely to prove fruitful in mungbean improvement programme.
