Abstract

Results of a field experiment with two irrigation regimes and eight combinations of planting and irrigation methods and VAM inoculation showed significant yield advantage with three irrigation one each at branching, pre-flowering and pod filling stages following furrow planting and irrigation method with VAM inoculation in summer mungbean. The highest consumptive use and water use efficiency were recorded with furrow planting and irrigation method along with VAM inoculation. However, two irrigations one each at pre-flowering and pod filling stages recorded higher WUE than three irrigations. Benefit: cost ratio was highest with three irrigations applied following furrow planting and irrigation method along with VAM inoculation.
