The field experiments were conducted during summer seasons of 1999 and 2000 on loamy sand soils of Sardar Krushinagar to find out the effect of varieties, levels of irrigation and dates of sowing on monetory returns of summer cowpea under North Gujarat agro-climatic conditions. Sowing cowpea on 2nd March recorded significantly higher seed and haulm yields with higher net realization and BCR. Application of irrigation at an IW: CPE ratio of 1.00 (Nine irrigations) recorded significantly higher seed and haulm yields with higher net realization and BCR. Variety Gujarat Cowpea 4 performed better than Gujarat Cowpea 2 and Pusa Falguni during summer season with respect to seed yield, haulm yield, net realization and BCR.
