Abstract

Seed treatment with Trichoderma viride increased the levels of various pathogenesis related proteins in all chickpea varieties under study grown in wilt sick soil. The resistant variety WR- 315 showed the higher level of PR proteins viz; B-1, 3-glucanase, chitinase, peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase and phenylalanine ammonia-lyase followed by Digvijay and Vijay. The susceptible variety JG-62 showed the minimum level of PR proteins. Higher levels of PR proteins were observed in treatment of Trichoderma viride @ 8 g kg' of seed followed by 6 and 4 g kg' seed treatment.
