Heterosis for yield and its components over better parent and mid parent was studied among eight genotypes of Mungbean (Vignaradiata L.). Total 28 F1s were generated from above genotypes in diallel fashion. The highest heterosis to the extent of 34.25 % over better parent and 37.06 % over mid parent for seed yield per plant was observed in the cross Meha x GJM-1004. Meha x GJM-1004, GJM- 1004 x GJM-1006, Meha x GJM-1008 and GJM-1007 x GM- 4 were identified as promising hybrids, having increased potential to exploit the hybrid vigour or to isolate the desirable segregants. In general, heterosis for seed yield in mungbean might be the result of combined heterotic effects of different yield contributing characters.
