Divergence analysis in clusterbean (Cyamposis tetragonoloba L.)

The present study consisted of evaluating 70 genotypes of clusterbean (Cyamopsistetragonoloba) for divergence based on D2 analysis for 11 morphological traits. Present genotypes grouped into 6 clusters. Clustering pattern did not indicate correlation between genotypic diversity and geographical diversity (place of origin). The mean values of clusters indicated that clusters differed in diversity with regard to the important morphological characters. Overall, days to flowering, followed by days to maturity, primary branches per plant have contributed most to the diversity besides seed yield. Based on the clustering pattern, diverse clusters have been identified that can be used to generatevariability for different characters in breeding program.
